Human Rights & Environment Development Center (HRENDC-Nepal) is a women-led nonprofit organization registered with the District Administration Office in Mugu under the Society Registration Act of 1978. It is affiliated with the Social Welfare Council in Kathmandu. The organization has been operating in the Mugu district since 1999, with its main office located at the district headquarters in Gamgadhi. The organization is actively working throughout the entire Mugu district, providing a range of social services, including education, healthcare, sanitation, climate chage and livelihood support.

The Human Rights & Environment Development Center (HRENDC-Nepal) is one of the pioneering organizations working in the field of community development through various eco-social programs in Mugu District since its inception. It was established in 1999 to run community-based, long-term social programs focusing on the underprivileged and marginalized communities, especially Dalits. HRENDC-Nepal is working in a critical situation in the underdeveloped Himalayan district of Mugu in Karnali Province, creating opportunities through training and short-term, income-generating self-employment programs. We focus on result-oriented programs to achieve sustainable development, maximizing the utilization of locally available resources.
